March is here so January and February are behind us and the cold weather, although it has still been very wet, but we can hopefully look forward to sunnier days and the evenings getting lighter.
With that said we have been working hard on getting Albert’s tyres fitted. We decided to go ahead and have a go at fitting them ourselves which seems a little stressful, we have no shed to do it in so we are doing it outside in the field so to speak, but we are getting there. Lloyd and Jack are making progress and they have one wheel done, the second wheel we thought would be a little easier but alass no! Things are never that straight forward with a steam enigne.
Hopefully in a few weeks time he will be back on his rear rubbers and we can progress to the next job. Thanks to David for his use of his tractor and making things we have needed as we go.

Since Victoria has got back from her outing in January she has sat under her cover keeping warm and dry, but we will soon get her cover off and take her out for a trundle. Francois has been out from under his cover and checked over and all seems well, he is in the queue for a couple of jobs to be done, just things like gland packing and a good clean, I’m sure he will soon be out and flying around the local roads.
We did pop along to Amberley Museum where we help with the road steam as volunteers and moved some of their vehicles around, we steamed both rollers, Wally the Advance belonging to Nick, and the Marshall roller “Joan”, we then got their tractor going so we could pull the old tug out the way and moved that to a new postion within the museum before bringing their old Tasker trailer back undercover.

We have not had alot of time for much else other than Albert, to be fair this seems to have been the thing since his return which in just a few weeks will be 2 years.
Please support Wendy and her fabulous books, they are all availble from this website.

See you all next time.
