So we made it through January, and with all the excitement of Christmas and New Year over, it’s back to work and the constant rain, but we have some great stuff to look forward to, so let’s catch up on what’s been happening around here in January…
The engines have been slumbering under their covers for most of the time over the last month or so, but Victoria had to come out because she had a very special job to do. Firstly she needed a very good clean and then she was off to The British Engineerium in Hove, Sussex, to be part of a very special lady’s life celebration. Sadly our very lovely friend, Shirley Fagg, passed away in December. Shirley, along with her husband Peter, owned Victoria before us and over the years we have become very close friends to Shirley and Peter. Therefore, it was only right that Victoria should go along to Shirley’s day. With the beautiful Beam Engine at the Engineerium, which is looked after by Peter, in steam it certainly was a special day. Shirley loved steam and this couldn’t have been a better way to celebrate her life.
Victoria is back home and under her cover after a clean. I’m sure she’ll be back out soon for more trips.

Albert is now in Hampshire and getting ready to have tyres put on his rear wheels, As some of you may remember, back in July 2024 his tyres fell off while at an event at Amberley! Now we are hoping to fit his new quad tracks which will give him and his crew a slightly more comfortable ride (fingers crossed).
Francois the Foden hasn’t been out from under his cover since December but with the weather hopefully warming up and drying up he will be out soon. He needs a couple of smaller jobs doing and the usual start of season things but he will be out and about very soon.
As for our tractors and cars, they are still in their winter quarters waiting for the salt to disappear off the roads and the sun to come out, and we do have a few events planned for them.
We are starting to put event dates on our calendar, which is always exciting, although sometimes on these wet dull days they seem like a life time away! So let’s get on to the cleaning and fixing all these vehicles and we will be ready for the year ahead.
We will see you all very soon.
